Interests: Still the same as before. It's all about the adventure and seeing our characters interact with each other. Rather curious how well I can keep the feeling of Garrus from Mass Effect, but still translate it well into the Dragon Age series.

History
Garrus' History
-Garris was born 9:11 Dragon, in the Wildervale region of the Free Marches. At the age of three his mother passed away due to illness, left to be raised by his father and sister.
-His father was a hunter and fur trader, so growing up Garris learned how to hunt, track and skin. Often the entire family would take half of their stock and trade or sell their goods at nearby towns, and if weather and travel was good, even all the way to the cities.
-At the age of twenty-two, during a trip to Kirkwall to sell furs for the winter, Garris saw some fellows his age, boasting about their skills with a bow. Words - snarky and then heated ones - got exchanged, which led up to the lot of them having a match. Honestly he wasn’t surprised he had won, but instead of getting a bloodied nose for it - they looked liked they wanted to though - Garris found himself with an offer to join the Kirkwall City Guard. After much consideration he took up the offer.
-For the most part Garris enjoyed his job, especially under Captain Vallen’s command, but things were obviously not right in Kirkwall. While he found Captain Vallen to be fair there were a number of rules and happenings in the city that did not bode well for him, so much paperwork and politics preventing them to stop crimes or evil-doings. For years Garris remained, following orders, hoping to the Maker that things would get better, but they never did.
-When everything came to a head and the Kirkwall Rebellion began, Garris fought, but once the fighting had ended he left the city.
-Jaded by how things had happened in Kirkwall, Garris decided to travel on his own, righting wrongs when he crossed them without having to deal with politics or corrupt officials.
-Over the years Garris became somewhat of a mercenary, ridding areas of bandits - mostly on his own, but from time to time for payment - and taking up odd jobs if he felt it was for a good cause. Somehow along the way, Garris found himself leading a small band of others of like mind, with various backgrounds. Their small band never gave themselves a name, though the blue stripe across his face became somewhat of a symbol for it.
-With the appearance of the Breach, strange creatures appearing around the lands, Garris seeked out the Inquisition. The only organization that seemed to be doing a damn thing about all this mess.
Personality
Because of issues in the past, he is uncomfortable under certain restrictions, preferring to do things his own way, rather than “by the book”. Garris has a strong sense of right and wrong, however, and most of his “outside the book” efforts go towards helping others. Not that he dislikes authority or taking orders, but if he feels that the call or decision is wrong he will not follow it.
Garris is a dedicated, loyal man, who prefers taking action over sitting around and talking. While it takes time to earn his respect, thus his loyalty, once you have it, Garris would follow you to the ends of Thedas, or at least offer his support whenever he could. He cares for anyone in his crew, whether they are on equal footing, or have a superior-subordinate relationship. Outside of a mission it is rare for Garris to pull rank on anyone so long as they mind themselves and don’t cause trouble.
While Garris is often cool and collected, sometimes aloof - especially to those he isn’t familiar with - he can be quite the hothead with an itchy trigger finger. Failure doesn’t sit well with Garris - if anything, it only gets worse the longer he is unable to do anything about the situation.
Though well traveled, Garris obviously doesn’t know everything. As such Garris takes a broad view of certain races, but is willing to change his views based on his interactions.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Marksman/Archery: Garris is known for his skills in archery. While proficient in a number of projectile weapons, his weapon of choice is the composite bow for its mobility and power, and ease of use while on horseback. Though deadly at a distance, Garris' abilities shine with his trick shots and quick fire method, often holding several arrows in his draw hand for faster shots, which he can utilize so long as he has room to draw his bow.
Other Combat: Garris does have some skill at being stealthy, but mostly with getting lost in a crowd or disappearing into trees. He's no assassin, and no thief, when he sneaks it isn't to get into melee.
He is most comfortable with his bow, but there are times where he needs to use his daggers. Through trained to be able to handle them, his skills with them are basic at best; stabbing, throwing, and blocking mostly.
Tactician: He's got a head for tactics. While able to adapt and think on his toes, Garris much prefers staking out a spot and watching his targets first, judging their location and then making a plan. With rifts, and new enemies popping up though Garris often finds some of his plans going off course and Garris hates it if he's overlooked a detail, or didn't consider something happening.
Mercenary: Though not widely known, he has made quite a few people angry with himself and his small group. Mostly bandits, other merc groups who took advantage of villagers and the like, and some nobles that he refused to do work for.
Calibrating: Garris has a tendency to keep to himself and take care of his gear or to make sure everyone has the things they need for a job. 'Can it wait a while?' He's not anti-social, just... has a bad case of tunnel vision in these times.

Motivation
The Rifts are becoming more of an issue, as are these Venatori and Red Templars. A lot more then just him or his little band of mercenaries can handle. The Inquisition would serve as a way for him to learn more about these threats, better prepare, and job opportunities. Doesn't hurt to have a place to lay your head with meals either, which he'd be willing to offer his services exchange for.
